Kinchela Boy’s Home Aboriginal Corporation

Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation (KBHAC) was established by survivors of Kinchela Aboriginal Boys Training Home (KBH), a ‘home” run by the NSW Government for over 50 years to house Aboriginal boys forcibly removed from their families. KBHAC has developed a unique survivor-led approach to its governance and healing described as Survivor led.

Kempsey Families Inc

Our range of family support programs ensure services are available to support the well-being and nurturing of children and families, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged. The programs help enable families to manage life transitions, ensure children are protected and contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities.

Kempsey Community Housing

Not-for-profit community-based housing provider, Community Housing Limited (CHL) has opened a new office in Kempsey in response to its expanded service offering to those seeking social and affordable housing assistance on the mid north coast. CHL had successfully tendered for the management of around 1,400 social housing properties in Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Nambucca Heads under the NSW.

Dunghutti Elders Corporation

In Australia, the Dunghutti Aboriginal People are made up of eight tribal groups that reside in the continent’s Macleay Valley region. Their way of life was disrupted by White settlers, and they eventually lost rights to their land. However, the Native Title Act of 1993 gave way to the Dunghutti people to become the first group of aboriginals to lay claim to lands on this day in 1997.

Durri Aboriginal Medical Service

The Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service (Durri ACMS) was established in 1976. The name Durri means “to grow in good health” and was bestowed upon the organisation by members of the local Aboriginal community. Located in Kempsey, approximately half way between the cities of Brisbane and Sydney. Durri is on the traditional land of the Dunghutti people.
