Information, Referral and Support:

KNC provides information, referral and support to any member of the community requiring this. We maintain a data base of services and programs providing assistance. Our Access worker works with clients to provide targeted referral and support. (Funded through Department of Communities and Justice)

Community Hub

The Neighbourhood Centre is the place to come when you do not know where to go. KNC Hub provides drop in support, tea, coffee and a listening ear and a place to sit and have a chat. We also run groups and programs through the Centre including a Monday barbecue and a Friday craft group. We also coordinate and participate in community events such as NAIDOC week, Homelessness Week, Mental Health Week and ‘It’s OK on the Macleay.’ (Funded through Department of Communities and Justice)

Mid North Coast Financial Counselling

Mid North Coast Financial Counselling provides services from Grafton to Great Lakes. Financial Counsellors are fully accredited, experienced and up to date on all matters relating to credit problems, such as overdue bills, default notices, utility bills and changes in financial circumstances affecting people’s capacity to meet their financial obligations. Financial Capability :

Our financial capability worker can assist with matters such as budgeting, fine payments and community information regarding money matters(Funded through Department of Social Services)

Emergency Relief

Food support and emergency assistance for disadvantaged members of the community.(Funded through Dept of Social Services)

NILS (No Interest Loans)

NILS loans are available to people on low incomes for the purchase of household goods and necessities such as car registration and repairs and school needs. Conditions apply. (Funded through Office of Fair Trading and Good Shepherd Microfinance)

Kempsey Nambucca Volunteer Gateway:

Providing volunteer opportunities, volunteer support and matching volunteers with services.( Funded through Department of Social Services)

South West Rocks Community Centre:

Centrelink Office, Broadband for Seniors, community groups and programs

CLSD: Community Legal Service Delivery

Community programs, information and updates in regard to legal matters in our community.(funded through Legal Aid)

Kempsey Place Plan:

Based at South Kempsey Community Centre and providing community connection, support, groups, programs and services to social housing residents in South and West Kempsey(funded through Department of Communities and Justice)

Driving Change

Assisting young people in our community to get their drivers licence by providing support, a vehicle and a trained mentor to work with the young person to build up their hours and gain skills.(Funded through Stronger Communities – Dept of Premier and Cabinet)

Taming the Tiger: Support to stop smoking.

The Bazaar Project: Raising money to assist with food security through garage sales and donations.
